“ColorADD Program in Schools” in Spain

We share some testimonies from the launch of the “ColorADD in Schools Program” in Spain, at Colégio Alba, in Vigo. True inclusion is achieved through education! In a partnership with ACROMÁTES and FEDER, ColorADD.SOCIAL took the concept that “Color is for Everyone!” to the Spanish educational ecosystem. A further 23 actions are already planned in other cities throughout this year.

CIMBB | ColorADD - Results presentation

Last school year we had the opportunity to visit all the 1st CEB schools in the 6 Municipalities of Beira Baixa, where we talked about color blindness with all the 3rd year students. It was a moment of sharing, generosity and learning that we greatly valued and that we kept in a colorful corner of our journey. We want to share with everyone some little pieces of this project, which we believe will soon gain scale and continue to "bring" color to this region, so full of color, of our colorful country. Color is for Everyone!!!

We return to Santo Tirso!

Today we return to Santo Tirso, where the "ColorADD in Schools Program" will take place for 3 days. We are happy in the places where we feel loved and Santo Tirso is also our home - this is the ninth school year in which we are here spreading color through the 1st CEB schools, having already reached more than 4,700 4th grade children, for whom color blindness no longer has any secrets and is just another characteristic of some people. These students are already agents of paradigm change and this is, without a doubt, an inclusive Municipality by color. Proof of this is the involvement of the local community, where 4 different opticians work in collaboration and, year after year, ensure visual screenings, guaranteeing the visual health of their children. Because Color is for Everyone!!!

EDUCATION

SCHOOL PROGRAM

We developed a program, composed of a series of actions, which are carried out in primary schools, mainly to 3rd graders, as well as to the entire educational community, so that they can understand both this limitation and the inherent day-to day constraints, whilst learning a tool, which allows a colorblind person to overcome such difficulties. Being this a continuity program, annually replicated, it will be possible to embrace all primary school pupils.
